Management Accountant
Pay: Competitive Salary
Contract: Full-Time and Permanent
Location: Kara Healthcare Head Office, Leicester

At Kara Healthcare, we're looking for an organised, commercially minded, and approachable Management Accountant to join our team at our Head Office in Leicester.
This is an exciting opportunity to become an important part of our finance function, supporting the wider business with accurate financial information, meaningful reporting, and insight that helps us make better decisions.

What You'll Be Doing
As Management Accountant, you'll work closely with the Finance and Senior Leadership teams to provide accurate financial information and support the day-to-day running of the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
- Producing detailed analysis of income, expenditure, and financial performance.
- Preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Investigating significant variances and working with teams to understand the reasons behind them.
- Supporting the preparation and monitoring of budgets across our care homes and departments.
- Providing financial information and insight to managers and senior leadership.
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
- Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes where required.
- Ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained appropriately.
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating discrepancies.
- Supporting audit processes and providing information when required.
- Helping to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting.
- Working with operational teams to help them understand and manage their financial performance.
- Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the wider business.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and financial performance.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is confident with numbers, pays attention to detail, and can explain financial information clearly to people who aren't accountants.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working in a management accounting or similar finance role.
- A relevant accounting qualification or be actively working towards one, such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
- Strong understanding of management accounts and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise your workload.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues across different areas of the business.
- A practical and commercially minded approach.
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a wider finance team.

Experience within healthcare, social care, or another multi-site organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
