Senior Management Accountant
West Yorkshire | Hybrid Working | Qualified ACMA / ACA / ACCA
Are you a qualified Management Accountant looking for a role that offers more than simply producing the monthly numbers? Gifford & Partners are partnering with a growing, multi-location UK business to recruit a Senior Management Accountant into its central finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone already working in industry who enjoys the technical side of management accounting but is ready for greater ownership, people responsibility and commercial exposure, or someone making their first step out from professional practice audit looking for a role that can truly add value and business insight.
The opportunity
Sitting within an established finance function, you'll take responsibility for delivering high-quality management information, financial analysis and reporting across a growing organisation.
You'll play an important role in ensuring the integrity of the numbers while providing meaningful commentary that helps stakeholders understand performance and make better commercial decisions. There is also a genuine people leadership element. You'll manage and develop a small team, helping improve both the quality and efficiency of the finance function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ownership and delivery of monthly management accounts and associated financial reporting
- Providing clear analysis and commentary around financial performance
- Maintaining strong balance sheet control and ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately
- Supporting short and medium-term cash forecasting and working capital visibility
- Working closely with stakeholders during budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Supporting the year-end process and external audit
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting and existing processes
- Coaching and developing a small team while maintaining high standards of delivery
What are we looking for?
We're particularly interested in speaking with qualified Management Accountants working within industry who are ready to broaden their responsibilities or currently in Professional practice looking to land their first move into industry where they can add value and contribute to business drivers.
You'll ideally be ACMA ACA, or ACCA qualified with strong experience producing management accounts and a good understanding of balance sheet control or likely in an audit role in practice.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
Experience gained within a multi-location, decentralised or operationally complex organisation would be particularly useful, although we're more interested in the quality of your experience than a specific sector background.
You'll also need to be comfortable working with financial data, communicating with non-finance stakeholders and taking responsibility for developing others.
What makes this opportunity particularly interesting
Management accounting + commercial exposure + team leadership + business growth.
It's therefore potentially a very good next move for someone who has established themselves as a Management Accountant but wants to develop towards a broader Finance Manager or Financial Controller position in the future.
You'll be joining an organisation that continues to evolve, giving you the opportunity to improve processes and controls rather than simply inherit a fixed way of doing things. Please apply through LinkedIn or contact Gifford & Partners for a confidential overview of the role and business.
