About the Management Accountant Role

We're looking for a motivated finance professional to join our team, supporting a key organizational transformation project. Bring your skills, your ideas, and your drive, and help us shape the future of housing in Devon.

As a Management Accountant, you will deliver high-quality financial management information that supports effective decision-making and reflects our organizational values. Working closely with colleagues across the finance team, budget holders, and non-finance stakeholders, you'll play a vital role in financial planning, reporting, and compliance, ensuring robust financial controls and providing insightful financial analysis.

This is a fixed-term opportunity designed to support the Management Accounts team as we deliver HomeTeam27, a project to deliver the insourcing of our repairs and maintenance service.

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week.
Contract: Fixed-term contract until December 2027.
Location: Devon, TQ12 4PH.

What You'll Be Doing

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing of the management accounts
  • Calculation and posting of monthly accruals and prepayments and other month-end journals
  • Monthly budget holder meetings to discuss financial performance
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Providing accounting support in respect of new property developments, both for revenue and capital costs
  • Preparing ad-hoc financial reports, as required ensuring agreed targets are met
  • Key reconciliations between the finance system and housing management system
  • Playing a key role in the company's year-end, including assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with the external auditors

About You

What we're looking for:

  • Fully qualified (CIMA/CCAB) or qualified by experience
  • Experience in management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues
  • Experience of maintaining financial controls and supporting compliance
  • A collaborative approach with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • A proactive, organized, and adaptable individual who thrives in a changing environment
