An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious finance professional to join a growing organisation at the beginning of a significant expansion journey. Working closely with an experienced and well-established parent company, you will gain exposure to the full finance operation, learning all aspects of transactional finance before progressing into a broader management accounting role.
Management Accountant
Full Time Hours
Office Based in Osmoldswick (York)
£40-45,000 (depending on level of experience)

Your new role...
The successful candidate will be eager to learn, capable of taking ownership, and excited by the prospect of developing their career within a growing organisation. Over time, the role is expected to evolve into a more senior position, offering the opportunity to take responsibility for management accounts, financial reporting and the supervision of a small finance team. This will be a varied and hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. You will support the day-to-day running of the finance function while building a strong understanding of the wider business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Purchase ledger processing
- Sales ledger management
- Credit control and debt collection
- Bank reconciliations
- Cash flow monitoring and management
- Payroll support
- Month-end accounting activities
- Accruals and prepayments
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting financial controls and processes
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Producing financial reports and analysis
- Working closely with operational managers and stakeholders

As the organisation continues to grow, the role will develop to include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Variance analysis and reporting
- Budget preparation and forecasting
- Financial performance analysis
- Supporting strategic decision-making
- Process improvement projects
- Supervising and mentoring junior finance team members
What you'll need to succeed...
We are looking for someone with the drive and ambition to develop alongside the business. This role would suit an individual who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and wants to build a long-term career within finance. The ideal candidate will have:
- AAT qualified, part-qualified or newly qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA status
- Previous proven experience within an accounts or finance role
- Strong understanding of transactional finance processes
- Experience across sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control
- Good Excel and systems experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Confident communication skills with both finance and non-finance colleagues
- A proactive and hands-on approach
- A genuine desire to learn and develop
- Ambition to progress into management accounting and future team leadership responsibilities

Experience within healthcare, care services or another regulated environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
