Management Accountant

The Arora Group is one of the largest private owner and operator of hotels in the UK, with over 6000 rooms in operation across 12 Global Brands, including Marriott, Hilton, Accor, IHG and Radisson portfolios. The Management Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the Buckinghamshire Golf Club and the Luton Hoo Hotel during its period of closure for refurbishment. This includes accurately maintaining the financial records, managing supplier payments, and monthly reporting. The role acts as a finance business partner to the General Managers of the Club and the Hotel, providing financial support and analysis on business performance and opportunities to improve profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume full responsibility for accounting activities across Buckinghamshire Golf Club and Luton Hoo Hotel.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and provide value-adding analysis of results.
  • Develop a strong understanding of how the businesses operate and the underlying financial and commercial drivers.
  • Maintain accounting records in accordance with group finance policies.
  • Monitor and mitigate risk by ensuring a robust control environment through regular reviews and assessments with a view to enhance controls.
  • Take full ownership for the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare timely, focused, and value-adding narrative and analysis of the monthly results and present them to senior team members at the properties and in Central Finance.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all balances are fully supported.
  • Prepare VAT returns and other statutory submissions as required.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable and deferred income processes.
  • Manage weekly cash flow forecasts and working capital performance.
  • Support annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Support the year-end audit and statutory accounts process.
  • Provide support, training and guidance to finance and operational teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
  • Maintain oversight of fixed assets, cash reporting and payroll controls and reporting.

  • Fully qualified accountant, either ACA or ACCA.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics ERP is advantageous but not essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyse large datasets.
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office products such as Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience reviewing and analysing data with excellent attention to detail.
  • Organised and methodical with strong time management and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills both in writing and orally with experience in business partnering and managing stakeholders.
  • Proactive and demonstrates initiative.
  • Curious with skills in problem solving and process improvement.
  • Comfortable working under pressure, takes pride in their own work and is confident in delivering responsibilities with minimum supervision.

This role is based in our office in Heathrow - No hybrid working.
