Management Accountant
Location: Maidstone Support Centre
Job Type: Full-Time, 12 Month FTC
Salary: £50,000

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Management Accountant to join our finance team at an exciting time for the business. Following a significant acquisition, this role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in shaping financial reporting, planning, and commercial decision-making across the organisation.
This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified accountant or finalist looking to broaden their experience in a dynamic commercial environment. Whether you're already working in industry or looking to make your first move from practice, you'll gain exposure to both operational and strategic finance activities while working on a variety of high-profile projects.
As a trusted finance partner, you'll be encouraged to take ownership from day one, work independently, and contribute to process improvements and business growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Taking ownership of key month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting.
- Supporting the development and improvement of business processes and financial controls.
- Assisting with statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, audit preparation, and compliance reporting.
- Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, including ownership of budgets for specific business areas.
- Producing and reviewing company, departmental, and regional profit & loss reports.
- Conducting detailed variance analysis and providing insightful commentary to budget holders and senior management.
- Building strong relationships with operational teams, sales colleagues, and stakeholders across the business.
- Supporting acquisition integration activities and finance transformation projects.
- Preparing financial analysis to support strategic and commercial decision-making.
- Working closely with the analyst team to understand key business performance drivers.
- Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, proactive, and eager to make an impact.
Essential Skills & Experience
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or finalist.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
- Strong management and financial reporting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, complex formulas, and financial modelling.
- Experience working with and presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and adapt to changing business priorities.
- Confidence working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities.
Desirable
- Experience using Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP systems.
- Experience supporting sales teams or commercial functions.
- Previous involvement in process improvement or change management projects.
