Crate | Hackney Wick, E9 (with travel to our other sites when needed) | £40,000–£48,000 DOE | Permanent | 4 day week

About Crate

We started Crate in 2012, brewing beer and making pizza by the canal in Hackney Wick. Since then, we've grown to include a second venue in Wood Wharf, alongside our online shop and wholesale drinks business. We're still independent, and our roots are firmly in East London.

Our Support Office is based at The White Building in Hackney Wick, alongside a mix of independent creative businesses. We're a small, hands-on team, and we're looking for someone who enjoys getting stuck in with a support role where no two days are quite the same.

This role comes with the option to work a four-day week post successful probation (32 hours) for no loss of pay. We will work with you to embrace the four day ethos and find efficiencies in your working day, without compromising output.

Our values guide how we work:

  • Think Big: back bold, commercially grounded ideas.
  • Get Creative: find inventive solutions that work in practice.
  • Do Good: treat our team, customers and community fairly.
  • Be Exceptional: keep high standards and take pride in the detail.
  • Be You: bring your individuality, with respect for everyone around you.

The role

Reporting to our Head of Finance, you'll take ownership of our management accounts and P&Ls, run payroll and keep our ledgers in order. You'll also be the go-to person for finance questions across the business. We're a small team, so you'll get involved in plenty of different things and see how the numbers connect to what's happening across our venues and wider business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
