Part Time Management Accountant | Cheshire | Up to £3500pd | Outside IR35

Forge Talent is seeking a Part Time Management Accountant to support the finance function with management accounting, reporting, and analysis. This role will provide timely, accurate financial information to support decision-making across the business and ensure controls and processes remain fit-for-purpose for a growing PE backed science business.

Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and commentary for senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Produce regular variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast) and explain key drivers.
  • Support monthly and quarterly forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Maintain and review financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Prepare management reports and presentations for the executive team and Board as required.
  • Work with operational managers to understand cost drivers and support cost improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with cashflow monitoring and short-term cash planning.

About You

  • Proven experience working in a management accounting role, preferably within regulated service environments.
  • Strong technical accounting skills: month-end processes, reconciliations, variance analysis, and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience using accounting/ERP systems.
  • Comfortable preparing clear, concise management information and presenting findings to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, methodical, and able to work independently in a part-time capacity.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining robust financial controls.
