Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner
Location: Solihull, Birmingham
Salary: up to £35k + Option for Study Support
An established and growing organisation is looking to appoint a commercially minded Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering with operational stakeholders, improving financial performance, and playing a key role in delivering accurate and timely management information.
Working closely with operational finance leads, you will be responsible for supporting financial reporting, analysing performance, and driving continuous improvement across month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Business partner with operational teams and key stakeholders across multiple sites.
- Take ownership of key aspects of the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate.
- Prepare and post journals, including month-end adjustments.
- Complete accruals and prepayments on a timely and accurate basis.
- Review monthly financial results and investigate variances, identifying opportunities for improved financial performance.
- Analyse weekly financial data and discuss trends, risks, and opportunities with stakeholders.
- Produce weekly soft-close reporting to provide early visibility of financial performance ahead of month end.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Challenge assumptions and provide constructive financial insight to operational teams.
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls, and financial analysis.

About You
- Strong understanding of month-end accounting, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Confident analysing large volumes of financial data and presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Able to build strong relationships while maintaining the confidence to challenge and influence decisions.
- Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Studying towards (ACCA, CIMA)
