Management Accountant – WOLF Qanawat

Location: London, UK
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Hybrid Working – Minimum 2 days in the office)
Reporting To: Financial Controller
Salary: Based on Experience

Based in the heart of Shoreditch, WOLF are now looking to hire an experienced Management Accountant with a hands-on approach to their work to join our small London team but supporting the whole business. The role offers broad exposure across different areas of Finance, reporting directly to the Finance Controller. You will play a key role in supporting the FC in expanding the Finance team, streamlining reporting, and owning the monthly management accounts process.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced management accountant to become part of our growing outsourcing team. We are looking for someone who is forward-thinking, adaptive, and willing to implement change.

This role is a great opportunity for someone with management accounting experience looking to take greater ownership of the monthly reporting cycle and build their business partnering and technical accounting skills, working closely with the Financial Controller and beyond into wider group finance matters. The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating at management accountant level, with a strong understanding of financial statements and month-end processes.

The Finer Details:

  • Own the preparation and delivery of monthly Group Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet Reports, including variance analysis against budget/forecast
  • Manage the month-end close process, including reconciliation of monies received from payment merchants, prepayment and accrual schedules, fixed asset registers, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Review and oversee processing of supplier invoices and payment runs across the group in multiple currencies in Xero
  • Review bank reconciliations for multiple accounts/currencies
  • Oversee reconciliation of customer receipts from a variety of payment platforms including Paypal, Checkout and Braintree
  • Review and reconcile credit card statements for all the companies in the group
  • Review and approve employee expense claims
  • Manage regular reconciliation of all control accounts, resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns to meet regulations for UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE and MOSS
  • Support the FC with budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Provide financial analysis and business partnering support to non-finance stakeholders across the business
  • Manage the full month-end close process, including reconciliation of monies received from payment merchants; preparing schedules of prepayments and accruals; maintaining fixed asset registers; intercompany reconciliations
  • Work with the HR Team to process and review monthly payroll
  • Support and help drive preparation for year-end close ahead of audits, liaising with external auditors
  • Support, mentor, and help develop more junior finance team members (e.g. Assistant Management Accountant / Finance Assistant)
  • Work closely with the FC on ad-hoc projects, process improvement, and system implementations
  • From time to time, travel to Newcastle for Company Updates / Team Meetings (Please note this is infrequent)

We’d like you to have the following:

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Management accounting experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to business partner with non-finance stakeholders
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software (Xero experience advantageous)
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines
  • Hands-on, pragmatic approach to your work, prepared to roll their sleeves up and help out at all levels of the finance processing

This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role. The successful candidate should be able to commute to our London office for a minimum of two days per week.
