The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, delivering insightful analysis, and supporting operational teams through effective business partnering. The role ensures financial information is reliable, supports decision-making, and contributes to continual performance improvements across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Management Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow analysis.
  • Deliver variance analysis with commentary on key drivers of performance.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet schedules.
  • Ensure accurate monthly accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the annual budgeting process and periodic re-forecasts.
  • Work with FP&A and department leads on budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor performance against budget and identify risks/opportunities.

Cost & Margin Analysis

  • Assist FP&A Manager with analysis of product / project margins
  • Maintain cost center structures and ensure accurate allocation of costs.
  • Identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and improvement areas.

Financial Processes & Controls

  • Manage bank accounts and prepare payment runs
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Support the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required data and explanations.

  • Work with finance systems to improve reporting and automation.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across finance systems and spreadsheets.
  • Contribute to process improvement and efficiency projects.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in management accounting or similar analytical finance role.
  • Familiar with Finance software
  • Strong understanding of management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel skills; confidence with financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with ability to meet deadlines.
