Job Description

Ready to use your financial expertise to influence business decisions and support achievement of our financial and operational objectives? At EDF, Success is Personal – and this is your opportunity to make a real impact while developing your career.

As a Station Management Accountant at Heysham 2 Power Station, you'll provide trusted financial insight, support business performance, and help station leaders make informed decisions that contribute to the journey towards An Electric Britain.

We're looking for a qualified accountant with a proactive mindset, strong stakeholder focus and the confidence to become a visible and trusted finance partner across the station.

This is a site-based role, with an expectation of working on site 3 to 4 days per week, working closely with colleagues across finance and operational teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitoring performance against budget, investigating and explaining variances between budget and actual costs, correcting any errors where required, and ensuring evidenced accuracy of monthly accounts
  • Developing and distributing monthly financial reports to budget holders to track financial progress and performance on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Providing supporting information for quarterly audit requirements, including accrual substantiations, tax packs, and internal controls assessments
  • Completing monthly stock certificates and providing independent assurance that stock values are accurately recorded, through governance checks and spot reviews
  • Identifying and communicating emerging risks, opportunities and performance trends, recommending mitigation actions to optimise business outcomes
  • Monitoring project and portfolio performance through planning, timely reporting, analysis, forecasting, variance commentary and management insight to support informed decision-making

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
