Description
Greenergy delivers safe, efficient and reliable fuel solutions to customers across road, aviation and marine sectors. As an international transportation fuel supplier, we combine traditional and renewable energy solutions to support our customers through the energy transition.

Are you an analytical and inquisitive qualified accountant who enjoys understanding the operational story behind the numbers?
We’re looking for a Management Accountant to support the financial management of Gross Margin Costs across our UK supply and distribution activities. Covering areas such as freight and shipping, port and tankage costs, demurrage and other operational charges, the role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of the commercial and operational drivers behind financial performance.
You’ll be responsible for accurate management accounting and reporting, variance analysis, budgets and forecasts, while also partnering with stakeholders to challenge assumptions and improve decision-making. We’re looking for a CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified accountant with advanced Excel skills, strong attention to detail and the confidence to work across teams in a fast-moving environment.
You’ll need to be curious about how the underlying business operates and comfortable questioning information, investigating variances and looking for ways to improve the quality and efficiency of financial reporting. Experience within fuels, energy, logistics, commodities or another operationally complex business would be an advantage rather than essential.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Finance:
- Oversee and review transaction processing undertaken by Operational Finance, working with key stakeholders to ensure transactions are processed and coded correctly.
Management Accounting & Reporting:
- Prepare and review management accounts relating to Gross Margin Costs, including relevant balance sheet accounts, in line with Group accounting policies and reporting timetables
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of supporting files for cost accruals and other key accounting balances
- Lead balance sheet reviews for relevant accounts for review by Group Financial Controlling
- Maintain strong financial controls across Gross Margin Costs, ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and internal control requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
