Management Accountant – Engineering & National Legal Football
Location: Halesowen
Salary: £45,000
If you're a qualified accountant looking for more variety than a traditional single-company finance role, this opportunity offers something genuinely different.
You'll take ownership of management accounts and reporting across a privately owned group, including an established engineering business and a National League football club. It's a hands-on role offering exposure to very different commercial environments, with responsibility spanning management accounts, budgeting, variance analysis and ad hoc financial analysis.
The role would suit someone with strong technical foundations who wants broader commercial exposure without moving into a large corporate finance environment.
Management Accountant – This Role Is Ideal For
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) looking to move beyond a single-entity finance function into a more varied role.
- Someone who enjoys taking hands-on ownership of management accounts and wants exposure to different businesses within a group structure.
- A confident Excel user who takes pride in producing accurate, well-structured reporting and useful financial analysis.
- Someone comfortable working independently while being part of a close-knit finance team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
