Management Accountant

Our client is a heritage specialist lender ready to evolve beyond tradition and grow its specialist lending offering. Be part of the team modernising a trusted brand for today’s more complex mortgage market.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced management accountant who has worked within the mortgages and savings industry sector, to be responsible for budgeting and forecasting, cost management, tracking and managing KPI’s, financial reporting and risk management.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing and delivering Management Accounts Packs - comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Variance Analysis: Investigating and reporting on critical discrepancies between actual performance, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinating the annual business budgeting cycle and build accurate rolling forecasts.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborating with non-financial department heads to align financial insights with operational goals.
  • Commercial Modelling: Running scenario analysis and business case modelling to evaluate new project investments.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitoring ongoing liquidity and generating projections to safeguard operational stability.

The successful individual will possess:

  • Industry experience: As a management accountant within the mortgage and savings sector or a proven track record of managing high-value banking or building society clients.
  • Professional Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or late-stage part-qualified depending on seniority).
  • Core Accounting Expertise: Proven experience preparing full management accounts packs and handling month-end closing processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong track record in budget preparation, variance analysis, and commercial data modelling.
  • Communication & Partnering: Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-finance managers.
