Job Title: Management Accountant
A well-established specialist accountancy firm based near Ormskirk is seeking a Management Accountant to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with previous accountancy practice experience to join a small, collaborative firm and take responsibility for delivering high-quality management accounts and financial support to a portfolio of clients.
Role Responsibilities:
As the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and supporting schedules
- Reviewing performance against budgets and prior periods
- Producing clear variance analysis
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
- Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitoring cash flow and working capital
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Supporting year-end accounts preparation

A key part of the role will be working directly with clients to help them understand their financial performance. You will:
- Build strong relationships with business owners, managers and finance teams
- Respond to queries
- Identify trends and risks
- Provide commercially useful insight rather than simply producing the numbers
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong management accounts experience
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, approaching qualification or QBE
- A good understanding of management accounts, VAT, reconciliations, budgeting and financial analysis
- Confidence in communicating financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- High level of organization and ability to manage recurring monthly deadlines

Salary:
The salary on offer is £40,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
