A fast-growing, professional services business in Manchester is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its high-performing finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of the month-end process while gaining broader exposure to business partnering and commercial analysis. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and play an important role in supporting decision-making as the company continues to grow. The Role

You'll be responsible for producing accurate monthly management accounts while supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end close
  • Producing management reporting, variance analysis and commentary
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Business partnering with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight
  • Monitoring revenue, costs and gross margin performance
  • Supporting audit and statutory reporting requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting and finance processes
  • Assisting with ad hoc commercial analysis to support decision-making

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships and adding value beyond the numbers.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous Management Accounting experience
  • Strong month-end experience including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Experience producing management accounts and financial reporting
  • Good Excel skills
  • Budgeting and forecasting exposure
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-finance stakeholders
  • A proactive approach with a genuine interest in improving processes
  • Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) candidates considered
