Management Accountant
London Hybrid | Growing Technology Business
A high-growth technology company is looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join its expanding finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with an experienced finance leader in a business entering an exciting phase of growth. You'll take ownership of the monthly management accounts process while helping build the systems, controls, and reporting infrastructure needed to support a scaling international organisation.
The role offers genuine progression opportunities and broad exposure across financial reporting, operational finance, commercial analysis, systems improvement, and business partnering.
The Opportunity
As a key member of a lean and ambitious finance team, you'll be responsible for delivering timely, accurate financial information while helping improve processes and controls across the business. You'll gain exposure well beyond traditional management accounting, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
- Own the monthly management accounts process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare monthly reporting packs and variance analysis
- Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts
- Support month-end and year-end close activities

Operational Finance
- Oversee customer invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
- Manage supplier and customer onboarding procedures
- Prepare payment runs and maintain strong financial controls
- Support compliance and due diligence processes
Tax, Payroll & Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Coordinate payroll processing
- Support statutory accounts preparation and external compliance requirements
- Assist with audit preparation and year-end activities
Process Improvement & Systems
- Help strengthen financial controls and document key processes
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
- Support the development of finance systems and reporting tools
- Drive best practice across finance operations
Business Support
- Contribute to KPI reporting and performance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assist with commercial and strategic finance projects
- Partner with non-finance stakeholders across the business
About You
We're looking for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys working in fast-paced environments and wants to grow alongside a scaling business. You combine strong technical accounting skills with commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Essential Experience
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or nearing completion
- Previous experience preparing management accounts and owning month-end processes
- Background in industry or accountancy practice
- Strong Excel skills and experience using cloud-based accounting software
- Good understanding of VAT, payroll, and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management ability
Desirable Experience
- Experience within a high-growth, SME, or scaling business
- Exposure to multi-entity accounting
- Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting
- Involvement in finance system implementations or process improvement projects
- Knowledge of Power BI, automation tools, or AI-enabled finance solutions
