As our Management Accountant, you will play a key role within the UK & Ireland Finance team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across our UK and Ireland entities.
You will own key month-end processes, statutory reporting requirements, and balance sheet controls while partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver timely financial insights and support decision-making.
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional looking to broaden their management accounting experience within a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced retail environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Own Month-End Reporting & Financial Close:
- Manage month-end accounting activities for the UK & Ireland entities, including stock adjustments, accruals, journals, and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain Financial Controls & Compliance:
- Prepare VAT returns, support balance sheet reconciliations, oversee vendor and bank master data, and ensure all internal controls and finance procedures are consistently followed.
- Partner Across the Business:
- Collaborate closely with Marketing and other departments to review spend, monitor budgets against forecasts, and ensure accurate cost recognition through monthly accruals and reporting.
- Manage Statutory & External Reporting:
- Prepare quarterly VAT, Intrastat, and ONS submissions while supporting year-end activities, audit requirements, and compliance obligations.
- Drive Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting, strengthen financial controls, improve processes, and deliver valuable analysis to support senior leadership and business performance.
- Support Wider Finance Operations:
- Provide support across finance activities including credit control cover, employee expense processing, internal audits, ad hoc reporting, and project work as required.

Your Profile

- Accounting Expertise: Previous experience in accounting or management accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, month-end processes, and financial controls.
- Professional Qualification: Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA, with a desire to continue developing your finance career within a commercial environment.
- Technical & Systems Skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems such as SAP.
- Systems & Technical Expertise: Advanced Excel skills with experience using financial planning, budgeting, and reporting systems. Knowledge of SAP, HFM, or similar systems is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organised with excellent accuracy, ensuring financial information is reliable, compliant, and delivered within tight deadlines.
- Communication & Business Partnering: Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, confidently communicating financial information and providing valuable support to the wider business.
- Retail & Commercial Awareness: Experience within retail, FMCG, consumer goods, multi-site, or international environments would be highly beneficial.
- Growth Mindset: Proactive, curious, and continuously looking for ways to improve reporting, strengthen controls, and challenge the status quo to drive efficiency and best practice.
