About the Role
Our client is an amazing PE-backed multi-site retail business based by Chipping Norton. They have sites in the UK and one in Europe and are looking for an ambitious candidate for a newly created role. This role is supported by a transactional team, works alongside a group management accountant, and reports into the Financial Controller.
In this role, you will produce full sets of Management Accounts for different entities, then own the budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering with senior leaders to give strategic insight and cost analysis.
They are currently working on a project to automate manual processes, improve reporting, and month-end close, which you would also be initially part of. This means there is more of a reporting focus initially but will develop into a very commercial management accountant/business partnering role where you can have ownership and work closely with senior stakeholders on forecasting, budgeting, and variances.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
