At NCC, we’re a world-leading innovation organisation helping businesses turn cutting-edge research into real-world impact. We work at the heart of UK industry—bridging the gap between academia and manufacturing—supporting organisations of all sizes to develop, scale and deliver advanced technologies across the full product lifecycle.
We’re looking for a detail-driven and collaborative Management Accountant to join our Finance team, focusing on grants and audit activity. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our grant-funded programmes are accurate, compliant and well managed – while working closely with teams across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning end-to-end grant claim processes, ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
- Managing calculations, reporting and reconciliations for grant-funded activity.
- Partnering with project, PMO and finance colleagues to improve the accuracy and efficiency of grant processes.
- Supporting external audits, acting as a key contact for auditors and providing required information.
- Producing grant rate calculations (labour, equipment and overheads) in line with funder requirements.
- Monitoring grant spend and providing regular updates to budget holders.
- Delivering monthly reconciliations between the General Ledger and grant claims.
- Providing wider support across Finance, including statutory audit activity and ad hoc reporting.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
