Opportunity for an Accounting Professional

This would be a great opportunity for an accounting professional who is actively studying ACCA, CIMA or AAT and has some experience of working in management accounts, but is seeking a role that will allow them to step up and develop their experience further. Our client has a proven track record of progressing finance employees internally, so it would be a fabulous opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants to progress.

Description

As Management Accountant you will be reporting into a qualified Senior Management Accountant who has progressed within the business. You will be working as part of the management accounting team, but will be working closely with the wider finance function and non-finance stakeholders within the business. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Supporting with the preparation of monthly management accounts with analysis for two trading entities.
  • Completing month-end activities, including journals, reconciliations and control account reviews.
  • Supporting with the supervision, training and support of the Accounts Assistant.
  • Working closely with Commercial Finance, Accounts Payable and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy of financial information.
  • Acting as the finance contact for non-finance stakeholders, and providing support on accounting processes, which will include weekly meetings to discuss the numbers.
  • Reconciling key balance sheet accounts across the Group and investigating any variances.
  • Supporting the preparation of the weekly cashflow forecast.
  • Maintaining clear and up-to-date process documentation to support robust financial controls.
  • Providing ad hoc financial analysis
  • Supporting with continuous improvement projects that help drive business performance.

Profile

To apply for this position, you will:

  • Be currently studying an accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA or AAT)
  • Have some experience of working in management accounts and month end processes
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Have the ability to work as part of a fast paced and dynamic business
