Management Accountant
City of London | Hybrid Working (3 Days Office / 2 Days Home)
£45,000 - £60,000 (Dependent on experience) + Benefits

A well-established and growing insurance broker based in the City of London is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team. Operating within the London Market, the business has built a strong reputation for providing specialist insurance solutions and offers employees a collaborative and professional working environment. The company operates a hybrid working model, combining office-based collaboration with flexible home working.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the financial reporting and management accounting function for the business. This is a broad and commercially focused position where you will be responsible for producing accurate management information, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and partnering with stakeholders across the organisation. You will work closely with department heads and senior leadership to provide financial insight, challenge performance, support decision-making and help drive business growth. The role offers excellent exposure across the wider business and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a dynamic insurance environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Production and posting of journals, accruals and prepayments
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Delivering detailed variance analysis and providing commentary on financial performance
- Partnering with budget holders and department heads to review financial results and challenge expenditure
- Supporting non-finance stakeholders with budgeting, forecasting and financial decision-making
- Providing financial insight and analysis to support strategic initiatives and business performance
- Attending stakeholder meetings to present financial information and make recommendations
- Supporting statutory reporting, audits and regulatory requirements
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial controls and reporting
- Producing ad-hoc financial analysis and management information for senior management

This role would suit an individual looking to develop their business partnering experience while maintaining strong ownership of the core management accounting responsibilities.
What you'll need to succeed
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA part-qualified, finalist (Actively studying)
- Recent experience within an insurance firm, insurance broker, law firm, professional services firm or wider financial services organisation
- Strong understanding of month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Previous exposure to business partnering with budget holders, department heads or senior stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills, including the use of complex formulas and financial modelling
- Experience within the insurance sector or London Market environment would be highly advantageous but not essential for candidates from legal, professional services or financial services backgrounds
