A highly regarded, credit-focused hedge fund based in London is looking to hire a newly qualified Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, commercially minded accountant to move out of practice or industry, and into the fast-paced world of alternative asset management.

The fund runs a diverse set of strategies with a strong credit bias (both public and private), and this role would suit someone who wants genuine exposure to a sophisticated investment business, working closely with the CFO and wider finance function.

The role:

  • Support the production of management accounts, financial reporting and management information for the business.
  • Work closely with the CFO on ad hoc analysis, process improvement and finance projects.
  • Partner with other functions across the business (operations, tax, compliance) to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Get involved in automating and improving existing finance processes, with genuine scope to bring in new tools and ways of working.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What they're looking for:

  • ACA qualified (newly qualified), ideally trained at a top 15-25 firm - candidates with CIMA or ACCA will also be considered.
  • A strong academic background: a numerate/STEM degree from a top 10-15 university, backed up by strong A-levels.
  • Financial services audit or accounting experience is essential; exposure to credit (public or private) is a strong preference, though the fund is broadly agnostic on product and would simply lean towards candidates with a financial services client base.
  • Strong technical skills - any experience with coding, building internal tools or using AI to improve processes would be a real plus.
  • A polished, low-ego communicator who is motivated by learning and development rather than purely financial reward - this fund has a distinct culture and is looking for someone who will fit it.
