Management Accountant for Maternity Cover Contract
This is a fixed term opportunity, a hands-on finance role covering month-end accounts, management reporting, project/WIP accounting, cashflow, cost control, VAT and general financial accuracy. It would suit someone with strong management accounting and project accounting experience who is detail focused and can provide clear and accurate financial information. We offer flexible working although this is primarily an office-based role.
Responsibilities
- Preparing the monthly P&L and KPI reports and explaining financial performance.
- Cashflow, debtors and creditors: monitoring cashflow and reporting.
- Month-end accounting: full balance sheet reconciliation including managing accruals, prepayments and deposits to ensure costs and income recorded in the correct period.
- Project/ WIP accounting: managing work in progress across projects, including understanding open and completed jobs and making necessary adjustments.
- Cost allocation: ensuring staff time and other costs are correctly allocated to relevant cost centres and projects.
- Intercompany accounting: managing recharges and invoicing.
- Purchase ledger: reviewing supplier invoice/ purchase ledger information prepared by the team for accuracy.
- VAT. Preparing and managing the company’s quarterly VAT returns.
- Liaise with external Accountants in relation to Year End and statutory accounts production.
- Assist with Senior Leadership Team with annual budget forecast

Qualifications

- Knowledge of Sage; Xero; Excel.
- Strong accountancy skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage your time efficiently
- CIMA or ACCA qualified or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar management role with a proven ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate well with colleagues
