Hays are partnering with a rapidly growing organisation based in Taunton to recruit a Management Accountant. The business is undergoing an exciting period of organic and acquisitive growth and is investing heavily in its finance function, systems and processes, including a significant ERP implementation programme.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this is a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified accountant looking to make their first move from practice into industry. You'll join a business where finance is valued, change is constant, and career progression is genuinely achievable.

Your new role

This is a broad and commercially focused role that will give you exposure across management accounting, business partnering, financial analysis and transformation projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting
  • Ownership of the fixed asset register and associated accounting
  • Budgeting and forecasting support
  • Financial analysis and performance reporting
  • Business partnering with operational stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting the ongoing ERP implementation and systems development
  • Identifying process improvements and strengthening financial controls
  • Assisting with year-end reporting and audit requirements
  • Supporting integration activities linked to future acquisitions

What you'll need to succeed

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (This role is perfectly suited to a first-time mover from practice or an accountant in the early stages of their industry career).
  • Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting
  • Strong systems capability with essential Sage 200 experience
  • Commercial mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Hands-on approach and ability to thrive in a growing business environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
