As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team at our London office. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will contribute directly to our business’s growth and financial success.
Job Description
As a Management Accountant, you will be an integral part of our finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems, supporting business decisions, and helping us maintain financial integrity. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of management accounting, from the preparation of financial reports to budgeting and forecasting. This role provides ample opportunity for growth, as you'll be involved in a variety of tasks and be a key contributor to improving processes and systems within our finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly Management Accounts: Preparation of timely and accurate management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing insights to senior management.
- Financial Reporting: Monthly and quarterly reporting on key financial metrics and business performance to support decision-making.
- Cost Analysis & Control: Monitor and control the cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory levels, ensuring accuracy in cost accounting for our product lines.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies, with regular audit preparation.
- Cash Flow Management: Assist with cash flow management, ensuring adequate working capital and forecasting future cash needs.
- Project Support: Collaborate with various teams on ad-hoc financial analysis and project-related support.
- System Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- VAT Returns & Compliance: Assist with VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee supplier invoices and payments, and support with collections and debt management.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Process and System Enhancements: Assist in identifying and implementing improvements in financial systems and reporting processes.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Support with other financial tasks and reporting requirements as needed, such as year-end audits.

Key Requirements
- Qualifications: At least AAT qualified level 4, part qualified ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in management accounting, ideally within the food industry or a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of management accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and strong Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, Sumifs).
- Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of financial data analysis.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Team Player: Collaborative approach, comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Experience with Stock: Experience managing stock required.
