This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting and developing a growing finance function.

The successful candidate will support our Finance Manager in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, while also helping to manage and develop junior members of the finance team. Key Responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function across the business, with responsibilities including:

  • Control the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring deadlines are met and strong financial controls are maintained.

  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee and control cash flow reporting and treasury management.
  • Maintain overall control of creditors, debtors, and payment processes.
  • Review payment runs, challenging where appropriate.
  • Review and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Support the annual audit process.
  • Prepare key financial statements and supporting schedules for the annual statutory accounts. Assist in annual CSR and other reports.
  • Control and review the fixed asset register and hire purchase/lease registers.
  • Monitor cost centre performance, leading cost centre review meetings, and reporting findings to management.
  • Review payroll at a high level, identifying trends and ensuring compliance with tax and statutory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing appropriate controls.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the finance team through effective delegation, regular one-to-one meetings, and performance reviews.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and reporting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
