At Bayfields Opticians & Audiologists, we're looking for a Qualified Management Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and insightful business partnering support across our growing national network.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys both the technical and people leadership aspects of finance. You'll lead a small team, drive accountability, and ensure the business has the financial information it needs to make informed decisions.

What you'll be doing

As our Qualified Management Accountant, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, developing and holding members of the finance team accountable for performance and delivery.
  • Producing consolidated and practice-level management accounts.
  • Delivering accurate financial reports and meaningful commentary to support business decisions.
  • Owning monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are fully supported and accurately maintained.
  • Preparing and maintaining a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Monitoring cash flow performance and identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and year-end audit processes.
  • Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and reporting.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

  • βœ… Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
  • βœ… Experienced in producing management accounts within a commercial environment
  • βœ… A confident people leader who can coach, develop and motivate others
  • βœ… Strong technically, with excellent attention to detail and balance sheet control experience
  • βœ… Comfortable analysing data and turning financial information into clear business insights
  • βœ… Proactive, organised and able to work to tight deadlines
  • βœ… An excellent communicator who enjoys partnering with colleagues across the business

Desirable

  • Multi-site retail business experience
  • Experience of cash flow management and forecasting
