Hays is recruiting for a new opportunity which has arisen for a hands-on Management Accountant to join a growing international organisation operating within the renewable energy sector. The business is committed to delivering sustainable energy solutions to underserved communities across emerging markets and has operations spanning the UK, Africa and Asia.

- £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on level of experience/qualification)
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will become part of a small, collaborative finance team, playing a key role in both the day-to-day running of the finance function and the delivery of accurate financial reporting across multiple entities. This position offers excellent exposure to international operations, senior stakeholders and group accounting activities, making it an ideal opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to broaden their experience and progress their career.
- Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Assisting with monthly and quarterly financial close activities across the group
- Preparing financial reports for investors and key stakeholders
- Processing and reconciling bank transactions
- Managing employee expenses and company prepayment cards
- Maintaining accurate financial records within the ERP system
- Supporting overseas subsidiary finance teams with queries and process improvements
- Assisting with fixed asset accounting and inventory management
- Preparing grant reports and supporting financial documentation
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end controls
- Ensuring financial information is accurate, compliant and delivered within agreed deadlines

What you'll need to succeed
We are keen to speak with motivated finance professionals who enjoy being involved in all areas of finance and are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing business. Some of the key things we are looking for would be:
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Experience of month-end and/or quarter-end processes
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with:
- Bank reconciliations
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across international teams
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA studier, part-qualified or qualified
- Experience of multi-entity or group accounting
- ERP system experience
- Experience of fixed assets and inventory accounting
- Willingness to undertake occasional international travel
- Is ambitious and eager to develop
- Takes ownership of their work
- Is willing to roll their sleeves up and support the wider team
- Has a positive, proactive attitude
- Enjoys improving processes and finding efficiencies
- Thrives in a collaborative environment
