Role Purpose
The Management Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial management of the Emprise Group, working closely with the Financial Controller to deliver accurate management accounts and maintain effective financial processes across the business. The role provides exposure to a diverse group of businesses operating across sports travel, retail, events and coaching, supporting the financial performance of each through accurate reporting, reconciliations and day-to-day finance operations. This is initially offered on a temporary basis with the expectation that it will become a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities
Management Accounting
- Prepare monthly management accounts across multiple group companies.
- Process month-end journals including accruals, prepayments and deferred income.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Review purchase invoices to ensure accurate coding and accounting treatment.
Banking & Cash Management
- Complete timely and accurate bank reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Maintain and update group cashflow forecasts alongside the Financial Controller.
- Assist with monitoring cash positions and forecasting future requirements.
Purchase Ledger & Payments
- Prepare monthly supplier payment runs.
- Maintain supplier records and resolve supplier queries where required.
- Raise sales invoices as required (low volume).
Revenue & Stock
- Reconcile revenue received from multiple booking and sales systems to the accounting records.
- Assist with periodic stocktakes and reconcile stock records.
- Investigate and resolve any variances identified.
VAT & Compliance
- Prepare VAT returns for review by the Financial Controller.
- Support the maintenance of accurate financial records and compliance with statutory requirements.
Audit & Financial Support
- Assist with the preparation of annual audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Respond to audit queries as requested.
- Support the wider finance function with ad hoc reporting and analysis.

Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with the DSG Finance Team regarding cashflow matters and recharge invoices.
- Work closely with external accountants (Gravitate) and auditors where required.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues across the Emprise Group.
Skills & Experience Essential
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a team.
Desirable
- Experience preparing management accounts.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Experience preparing VAT returns.
- AAT qualified, studying towards a professional accounting qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
