NXTGEN is recruiting a Management Accountant for an established and growing group based in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to join a commercially interesting, multi-entity organisation and take ownership of financial reporting across a portfolio of group companies.

Working closely with the Group Accountant and wider operational teams, you will deliver accurate monthly reporting, maintain strong financial controls and provide clear insight into business performance. The position combines core management accounting with regular stakeholder engagement and opportunities to improve existing finance processes.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts for allocated group entities
  • Posting journals and reconciling general ledger transactions
  • Managing accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany transactions
  • Maintaining balance sheet control accounts and resolving outstanding issues
  • Producing VAT returns, KPI analysis and additional internal reporting
  • Liaising with operational colleagues to understand activity and its financial impact
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis
  • Assisting with year-end audit preparation and external auditor queries
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and standardise finance processes
  • Providing support across the wider finance team when required

The successful candidate

You will ideally have:

  • AAT Level 4, part-qualified or qualified CIMA/ACCA status, or an equivalent qualification
  • At least three years’ management accounting experience within a multi-company environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including FRS 102
  • Experience producing management accounts and completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables
  • The ability to manage competing month-end deadlines across several entities
  • A confident and professional approach to working with finance and operational stakeholders

Experience using Oracle NetSuite or producing reporting for external clients would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships outside of finance and improving the quality and efficiency of financial reporting.
