Help us build the finance function of the future.
At Spark, we believe finance should do more than process transactions and produce reports.
We are on a journey to create a smarter, more efficient finance function by embracing technology, automation and artificial intelligence. We are looking for someone to help us make that happen.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of our day-to-day finance operations while helping transform the way finance supports the business. As routine tasks become automated, you will have the opportunity to spend more time providing insight, improving processes and developing into a Finance Business Partner.
You do not need to be an artificial intelligence expert. We are looking for someone who is curious, enjoys finding better ways of working and is excited by how technology can improve finance.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in managing operational finance across our United Kingdom and international entities, ensuring everything runs smoothly while helping us continuously improve the way we work.
Key Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day finance operations across our United Kingdom and international entities.
- Support monthly reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls.
- Manage accounts payable, payroll, expenses, cash flow and banking.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate manual tasks and increase efficiency.
- Work closely with the Finance Director to modernise our finance function and drive continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Where This Role Is Different
We are not looking for someone who simply keeps things ticking over.
We are looking for someone who enjoys asking questions like:
- "Can this be automated?"
- "Is there a better way of doing this?"
- "How can we make finance more efficient?"
- "How can finance add more value to the business?"
Working alongside the Finance Director, you will play a key role in streamlining processes, embracing automation and helping transform the way finance supports the business. As the role evolves, you will spend less time processing transactions and more time analysing data, supporting decision-making and partnering with stakeholders across the business.
