Management Accountant

We've partnered with a family-run consumer-led group operating multiple sites and brands across the UK, including a mix of franchised operations. They're looking to hire a Management Accountant to join the finance team.

In this role, you will assist the Director in supporting their finance team, coordinating closely with various departments to ensure seamless financial operations and strategic alignment across the business.

This role would initially be full-time office based, but would offer flexible/hybrid work after the probation period.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end management accounting
  • Produce and review management accounts for multiple legal entities, with variance analysis vs plan and prior year, including performance commentary
  • Perform month-end GL journal postings
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reconcile sales against relevant systems to ensure accuracy
  • Review and approve the weekly payment run, manage cash flow reporting and forecasting
  • Produce weekly reports
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes as required
  • Assist with financial analysis and the annual audit process as needed
  • Review payroll reports and prepare detailed journals for posting/accruals
  • Support reporting across franchised and company-owned sites, where relevant

  • Experience preparing management accounts, posting month-end journals, and reconciling the balance sheet
  • Experience in a multi-site, multi-brand hospitality, leisure, or FMCG business — essential
  • Experience working with or reporting into franchised operations is a strong advantage
  • Ability to resolve problems using own initiative, with an eye for financial opportunities
  • Strong organisational skills; able to manage and prioritise a busy, varied workload to tight deadlines
  • Team player with a flexible, "can-do" attitude
  • Systems experience (e.g. Quickbooks or similar) desirable
