Location: Gloucestershire (Hybrid Working Available)

Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Job Type: Full-Time, Fixed term contract - Initially 18 month contract

The Company

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Management Accountant to join a growing and ambitious retail and eCommerce business. This is a highly visible role within the finance team, providing the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and contribute to the ongoing development of financial processes and business performance.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making and helping drive continued growth across the organisation.

The Role

The Management Accountant will be responsible for producing timely and accurate management accounts, analysing business performance and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
  • Posting and reviewing accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of any discrepancies
  • Analysing actual performance against budgets, forecasts and prior year results
  • Producing monthly reporting packs and management information for senior stakeholders
  • Supporting budget holders with financial analysis and expenditure monitoring
  • Assisting with annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Supporting year-end accounts and audit requirements
  • Working collaboratively with operational teams to provide financial insight and support decision-making
  • Ensuring robust financial controls and accounting procedures are maintained
  • Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
  • Assisting with finance projects, business analysis and process development initiatives
  • Supporting the development of accounting processes across international subsidiaries

About You

We are seeking a proactive, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced and evolving environment. You will ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant position
  • Strong month-end accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Exposure to integrated WMS and eCommerce systems would be advantageous
  • Previous retail, eCommerce or direct-to-consumer (D2C) experience would be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to partner with stakeholders across the business
  • High levels of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
