Management Accountant
Manchester / Salford
£50,000–£55,000 + 10% bonus
The Opportunity
Forge Talent is exclusively partnering on an exciting opportunity to join a growing, privately owned, reputable business looking for a Management Accountant.
This is a newly created role offering genuine ownership across entities that are all growing and profitable. The group is continuing to grow, and the finance team needs someone who can take ownership of the numbers, improve reporting accuracy and establish a consistent month-end process across the businesses.
This isn't simply a role where you'll produce a set of accounts and move on. You'll have the opportunity to get under the skin of each business, work closely with operational stakeholders and help improve how the wider group reports and manages its financial performance.
What you'll be doing
You'll take end-to-end responsibility for the finance requirements including:
- Taking ownership of monthly management accounts and month-end reporting.
- Ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and reliable.
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls.
- Reviewing P&L performance, investigating variances and identifying key trends.
- Producing management information and KPI reporting to support decision-making.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
- Overseeing VAT returns and other statutory requirements.
- Working with external accountants, auditors and advisors where required.
- Improving existing processes, controls and reporting systems.
- Identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency.
- Bringing greater consistency and structure across the businesses.
- Challenging discrepancies and working with stakeholders to resolve issues.

What we're looking for
This role would suit a Management Accountant who is ready for their next step and wants greater ownership, responsibility and exposure to the wider business.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong management accounting experience, including ownership of month-end.
- Excellent Excel and financial reporting skills.
- A good understanding of balance sheets, reconciliations and cash flow.
- Experience working across multiple entities or businesses.
- Strong analytical skills and the confidence to investigate and challenge the numbers.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to get into the detail.
- The ability to build relationships with non-finance stakeholders.
- A genuine interest in improving processes rather than simply maintaining them.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or part-qualified.

Salary & Benefits
- £50,000–£55,000 salary.
- 10% annual bonus.
- Annual salary review.
