Management Analyst (Consultant)

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $60–$120/hour

Location: Remote

About the Opportunity

micro1 is engaging experienced Management Analysts and Consultants to contribute to a customer project focused on business strategy, structured problem-solving, quantitative analysis, and executive communication.

In this role, you will apply your real-world consulting expertise to analyze ambiguous business problems, synthesize fragmented information, develop actionable recommendations, and communicate insights through polished executive-ready presentations.

Your work will also help train next-generation AI systems by providing high-quality examples of how experienced consultants approach complex business problems. No prior AI experience is required — your consulting expertise and structured problem-solving ability are what matter most.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex and ambiguous business problems and structure them into clear, actionable frameworks.
  • Break broad business questions into logical workstreams, hypotheses, analyses, and decision points.
  • Gather, organize, and synthesize scattered or unstructured information into concise insights.
  • Identify key findings, implications, and actionable recommendations from available information.
  • Create polished, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations that communicate a clear and compelling storyline.
  • Develop presentations that highlight key findings and 1–2 actionable recommendations.
  • Perform basic quantitative analysis in Excel to validate hypotheses and support business recommendations.
  • Translate analytical findings into practical business implications and decision support.
  • Communicate insights clearly through written and verbal formats in a remote project environment.
  • Collaborate with project leads to refine analyses, presentations, recommendations, and final deliverables.
  • Ensure deliverables are accurate, concise, well-structured, and aligned with client objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience in management consulting, strategy, business analysis, corporate strategy, or a related advisory role.
  • Strong ability to structure ambiguous business problems into logical analytical frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize unstructured or fragmented information into clear conclusions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working proficiency in Excel for basic quantitative analysis.
  • Strong ability to develop polished and professional PowerPoint presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex business insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce concise, high-quality deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a Strategy Analyst, Management Consultant, Business Consultant, or similar business advisory professional.
  • Strong experience turning unstructured information into compelling narratives and strategic recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in creating executive-level PowerPoint presentations.
  • Experience developing hypothesis-driven analyses and decision frameworks.
  • Strong quantitative reasoning and comfort working with business data in Excel.
  • Experience presenting recommendations to senior executives or business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage independent consulting or strategy projects remotely.
  • Strong judgment regarding what information to prioritize, synthesize, and communicate.
  • Consistent track record of delivering concise, high-impact business materials.
