Life Sciences Consulting Manager

Salary: Up to £110,000 total cash package, comprising a £82,005 base salary plus personal and company bonuses paid every six months

Location: London, UK

Working Arrangement: Hybrid and flexible working, with significant time spent at client offices

Overview

Our client, a management consultancy, is seeking a Life Sciences Consulting Manager to lead high-profile transformation and change projects while helping grow its Life Sciences practice.

You will lead client delivery, develop consulting opportunities and build capability across areas including Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D Development, and Global Health, Access & Sustainability. This role offers significant autonomy to shape initiatives, lead teams and solve complex business challenges across the Life Sciences sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex transformation and change projects for Life Sciences clients.
  • Independently lead projects or major workstreams across transformation programmes.
  • Help grow the Life Sciences practice by identifying opportunities, shaping consulting solutions and winning new work.
  • Manage new opportunities through the consulting sales process and support growth of the client and project portfolio.
  • Lead, coach and develop colleagues, building capability across project teams.
  • Contribute to Life Sciences propositions, training, marketing and sector development.
  • Apply broad business and transformation expertise to challenges across the Life Sciences value chain.
  • Lead internal initiatives supporting the continued development of the Life Sciences practice.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years' experience within a management consulting firm, working on transformation and change projects.
  • Proven experience independently leading projects, initiatives or major workstreams within transformation programmes.
  • Life Sciences consulting experience and subject matter knowledge.
  • Strong transformation capability, which may include programme or project management, change management, operational excellence, process improvement, operating models, organisation design, digital implementation, omnichannel or strategy.
  • Experience in one or more areas of Life Sciences, including Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D Development, or Global Health, Access & Sustainability.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business development capability, including identifying and scoping consulting solutions and managing opportunities through the sales process.
  • Proven experience leading teams, coaching colleagues and building capability.
  • Strong business problem-solving skills and the ability to take a broad strategic view rather than requiring detailed scientific or technical expertise.
  • Ability to work independently, identify priorities and lead initiatives.
