The Role
We are looking for an MI (Management Information) Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with around 18 months’ experience in an MI, reporting, data or analytics-focused position who is looking to further develop their technical and commercial skills within a fast-paced insurance environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming and analysing data, producing high-quality reporting, and delivering actionable insight to stakeholders across the business.
While broader MI and analytical experience is desirable, this role has two absolute core technical requirements.
Requirements
- Advanced expertise in Power Query within Excel, including the ability to build queries and write M code from scratch
- Advanced expertise in Power BI, including creating robust, insightful and visually effective reports and dashboards

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain MI reporting solutions for internal stakeholders
- Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting suites
- Develop and maintain Power Query solutions in Excel, including writing custom M code from scratch
- Extract, cleanse, transform and validate data from multiple sources
- Produce accurate and timely management information and performance reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting automation and efficiency
- Support business users with data analysis and reporting requirements
- Ensure consistency, accuracy and integrity of reporting outputs
- Work collaboratively with operational and leadership teams to understand reporting needs
Essential Skills & Experience
Absolute Must-Have Skills:
- Expert-level capability in Power Query (Excel) with the ability to:
- Write M code from scratch
- Build complex transformation logic
- Optimise and troubleshoot queries
- Expert-level capability in Power BI, including:
- Building dashboards and reports from the ground up
- Data modelling
- DAX knowledge
- Creating clear and commercially useful visualisations

Experience:
- Approximately 18 months’ experience in an MI Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong Excel capability
Desirable Skills:
- The following are advantageous but not essential:
- Experience within insurance or financial services
- SQL knowledge
- Experience working with large datasets
- Understanding of KPI reporting and operational MI
- Experience with data governance or data quality processes
