Position Description

The Management Information System Officer is a full-time role based in Liverpool with a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site and work-from-home duties. The role involves managing and maintaining key information systems to support reporting, compliance, and performance monitoring across training programs.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Collecting, validating, and updating learner and course data
  • Producing regular management information reports and dashboards
  • Analyzing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities

Collaboration and Support

  • Collaborating with operational and academic teams to ensure accurate data entry, streamline information flows, and support effective decision-making
  • Troubleshooting data issues
  • Helping implement system improvements
  • Ensuring data security and compliance with internal policies and external regulations

Qualifications and Skills

The post holder will:

  • Have a strong understanding of Information Systems and Management Information Systems (MIS), including experience working with databases or reporting tools.
  • Be proficient in Data Management and Information Management, with the ability to organize, maintain, and retrieve accurate learner and organizational data.
  • Demonstrate Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and present findings clearly.
  • Be competent in using office and data analysis software (e.g., spreadsheets, reporting platforms, CRM or MIS systems).
  • Have excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Have effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and support colleagues in using information systems correctly.
  • Benefit from experience in an education, training, or not-for-profit environment.
  • Have relevant experience in information systems, data management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Be required at times to attend and contribute to relevant meetings and training sessions, including minute taking when required.
  • Ensure resource stocks are maintained to appropriate levels and liaise with all teams to plan and fulfil needs for all planned courses.
  • Provide support and feedback on, funded and commercial provision including but not limited to, ASF, FCFJ, Apprenticeships, Commercial Clients, Bootcamps with a good working knowledge of all funding stream rules.
