Role: Management & Reporting Accountant
Salary: £48,000 - £55,000
Location: Birmingham City Centre (Hybrid)
About the Business
An exciting opportunity to join a well-established services business in Birmingham City Centre as a Management and Reporting Accountant. The role sits at the heart of the finance function, providing accurate reporting and commercial insight that helps shape decisions across the business.
Main Duties
As a Management and Reporting Accountant, your main duties include:
- Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including supporting commentary and variance analysis
- Leading a smooth and controlled month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies in a timely manner
- Preparing departmental and group-level reporting packs for use by senior stakeholders
- Supporting the budgeting and forecasting cycle, working closely with department heads
- Contributing to cash flow forecasting and monitoring working capital
- Providing clear, commercially-minded financial insight to support business decision-making
- Assisting with the year-end process and acting as a point of contact for external auditors
- Reviewing and strengthening internal controls, processes, and reporting systems
- Building strong working relationships across the business, including with non-finance stakeholders

Location / Office / Culture
The role is hybrid, based in Birmingham City Centre, with just 1-2 days a week in the office. The team operates from a bright, modern office and the business genuinely supports flexible working around it. You’ll report into a supportive Finance Manager/Financial Controller within a small, close-knit team, with a manager known for developing their people well.

The ideal candidate will have:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Demonstrable experience producing management accounts and month-end reporting
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
- A commercial mindset, with the ability to translate numbers into meaningful insight
- Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with non-finance stakeholders
