Role Overview

The Client is seeking an experienced Technical Author & Information Management / Document Management Lead to establish, structure, and govern project documentation across a major energy project. This role combines technical writing, information architecture, document governance, and SharePoint-based information management. The successful candidate will act as the project's documentation authority, ensuring all technical and operational information is clear, consistent, auditable, and aligned with industry best practice.

This is a hands-on position requiring someone who can both author technical content and design the information management structures that support it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the authoring, editing, and maintenance of project procedures, management plans, work instructions, technical standards, and guidance documents.
  • Translate complex engineering, operational, and HSE requirements into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Work with engineers, project managers, HSE specialists, and operational stakeholders to gather, validate, and develop technical content.

  • Develop and maintain linked documentation sets, ensuring traceability between procedures, standards, plans, and supporting records.

Documentation Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct quality reviews to ensure documentation meets project requirements, company standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Define document numbering, coding, version control, supersedence, and document status conventions.
  • Review legacy documentation and standardise content to create a consistent project document set.
  • Oversee the integration and rationalisation of HSE documentation into a coherent management system.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
