An exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Manager in Diss

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a growing and successful accountancy practice in Diss. Working closely with Partners and the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in managing a diverse client portfolio, developing high-performing teams and supporting the continued growth of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional seeking a broad management role with genuine influence and progression opportunities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients efficiently and effectively
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing seniors and assistant managers
  • Providing regular, constructive feedback and supporting team members with their career development
  • Completing appraisals, one-to-one meetings and probation reviews
  • Overseeing workflow, holiday planning and the effective deployment of resources
  • Reviewing complex assignments and special project work
  • Supporting the preparation and presentation of proposals and tenders
  • Working with Partners and Directors to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Developing your network of professional contacts and referrers
  • Spotting opportunities to introduce clients to the firm's wider services
  • Contributing to marketing activities, networking events and external speaking opportunities
  • Identifying and delivering internal training requirements
  • Ensuring the team provides consistently high standards of client service

What you'll need to succeed

You will be ACA, ACCA or equivalently qualified, with significant post-qualified experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of successfully managing a portfolio of clients
  • Previous responsibility for leading, managing and developing a team
  • A positive and credible leadership style
  • Experience of coaching or mentoring colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage changing deadlines and priorities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proven ability to develop professional networks and relationships with referrers
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach to client and internal matters
  • Commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering excellent client service
  • The confidence and integrity to lead others while handling sensitive information appropriately
