The Manager, Account Management, Civil, Energy & Environment is accountable for delivering operational results through the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of short-term initiatives and tactical plans that support account management objectives and key results in the region. This role translates broader sales and subfunction strategy into team-level plans, objectives, and operational initiatives, ensuring strong commercial performance, customer retention, and sustainable growth across strategically managed Civil, Energy & Environment accounts.
As the senior member of the account management team, this role leads, coaches, and develops experienced individual contributors, while remaining hands-on with a select number of key accounts. The role requires sound tactical judgment within established guidelines, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to drive alignment and collaboration across functions to achieve shared outcomes.
Duties and responsibilities
Organizational Impact & Operational Delivery
- Deliver operational results by planning, executing, monitoring, and closing initiatives that support team objectives and key results within the Civil, Energy & Environment account management function.
- Translate sub-function strategy into clear team plans, priorities, and short-term initiatives, ensuring alignment with regional and organizational goals.
- Make tactical decisions within established guidelines to manage risk, capture opportunities, and drive account growth and retention.
- Develop and own team sales plans, forecasts, and budgets, setting clear targets and monitoring performance against KPIs.
- Prepare and present reports on team activity, risks, opportunities, and performance outcomes.
Leadership, Autonomy & Talent Management
- Set day-to-day objectives for a team of experienced Account Managers, planning and overseeing short-term actions and goal achievement.
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development, working alongside team members on key accounts, deals, and initiatives.
- Conduct regular performance and career development conversations, aligned with organizational talent programs and policies.
- Provide input into performance decisions (including promotions, development actions, and other employment decisions) in partnership with senior leadership.
- Build and sustain a high-performing, collaborative team culture aligned to Seequent values.

Innovation, Complexity & Continuous Improvement
- Address challenges that require understanding of a broader set of business, customer, and market factors, including upstream and downstream implications across products, customers, or geographies.
- Apply logical analysis and prior experience to solve non-routine problems and improve effectiveness within the job area.
- Lead and implement meaningful improvements to systems, processes, and ways of working to enhance team efficiency, scalability, and customer outcomes.
- Stay current on market, customer, and technology trends within the Mining sector to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Communication, Influence & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders within and outside the sales discipline, including customers, partners, and internal functions.
- Clearly explain account management policies, practices, and procedures to team members and cross-functional partners.
- Provide clear performance direction and priorities to guide and motivate the team toward operational targets.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Product, and other Bentley Systems colleagues through joint account planning and execution.
- Represent the Seequent brand at conferences, tradeshows, and customer engagements.
Commercial and Account Leadership
- Oversee key deals and negotiations, providing guidance and approval as appropriate.
- Ensure effective use of regional and company-wide resources to support team growth plans.
- Contribute to broader regional planning, including headcount, resourcing, growth initiatives, and culture development.
- Contributing to the development of the team strategy including headcount, resourcing, budgets, growth plans, marketing, coaching, career development, and culture.
Qualifications
- Experience in the Civil, Energy & Environment Industry.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales and account management ideally within a technical/geotechnical industry (experience in Geosciences very advantageous).
- Extensive experience in sales and account management B2B, ideally within Civil, Energy & Environment, geotechnical, or technically complex software environments.
- Demonstrated understanding of core people management practices gained in managing sales teams including work planning, prioritization, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong commercial capability, including planning, negotiation, and contract management.
- Proven ability to lead experienced individual contributors, balancing hands-on contribution with people leadership.
- Strong communication skills across cultures, roles, and customer personas.
- Ability to apply broad, developing expertise in a specialized field and adapt new tools, processes, and approaches.
- Highly analytical with sound judgment and decision-making capability.
- Collaborative leadership style, high self-awareness, and calm execution under pressure.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent skills in communications (both oral and written), negotiation, analysis, reporting, training, and setting priorities.
