Manager Accountancy Practice
Are you an experienced accountant ready to take the next step in your career?
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Client Manager to join our client, a growing accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has management experience, or an ambitious accountant who is ready to step into a management role and has some previous exposure to supervising or managing a team.
As Client Manager, you will play a key role in managing client relationships, overseeing a small team and ensuring that work is completed efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Managing and developing a small team of accounting staff.
- Planning and overseeing team workloads and workflows.
- Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of year-end accounts.
- Overseeing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and tax compliance.
- Reviewing work to ensure accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact.
- Building strong, professional relationships with clients.
- Supporting and mentoring team members, helping them develop their technical and professional skills.
- Identifying workflow improvements and helping to ensure the practice operates efficiently.
- Working closely with the wider management team to deliver an excellent service to clients.

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced accountant with a strong practice background holding a professional accounting qualification, ACA/ACCA, or equivalent.
- Confident dealing directly with clients.
- Experienced in accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, and tax.
- Organised, commercially aware, and able to manage competing deadlines.
- A confident communicator with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable reviewing work and providing guidance to others.
- Already managing a team, or ready to take that next step with some previous experience supervising or managing others.
- Proactive, approachable, and keen to develop their career within a forward-thinking practice.
