Edenbrook are partnering with a Big 4 Consultancy who are rapidly expanding their Insurance Accounting Advisory function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Insurance Transformation: Manage complex transformation and advisory projects, delivering high-quality outcomes and providing expert finance advice.
  • Advise Senior Clients: Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and advise on IFRS 17, IFRS 9, UK GAAP, Solvency UK and wider insurance accounting matters.
  • Drive Risk & Controls: Support clients in strengthening internal control environments, including SOX, through control design, assessment, testing and remediation.
  • Improve Finance Processes: Lead the documentation and review of end-to-end insurance processes, ensuring clear alignment between risks, controls and reporting outcomes.
  • Support Finance Transformation: Advise on finance transformation programmes, ensuring effective controls are embedded within new and evolving processes.
  • Develop the Team: Work closely with senior leadership and coach junior team members, supporting capability development and knowledge sharing.
  • Grow the Practice: Contribute to business development, thought leadership and market opportunities to support the continued growth of the Insurance practice.

Essential

  • Significant experience in insurance audit, industry or advisory, with exposure to complex insurance accounting, transactions, controls and/or finance transformation.
  • Strong practical knowledge of IFRS 17, IFRS, UK GAAP and Solvency UK.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end insurance processes, risks and control frameworks, including SOX.
  • Awareness of evolving insurance regulation and the impact of technology, AI and automation on the industry.
  • Strong commercial understanding of the challenges facing Insurance CFOs.
  • Excellent client-facing, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and development skills.
  • A solution-oriented approach, with the ability to adapt to changing requirements while maintaining a high standard of quality.
