Manager – Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Real-World Evidence
Hybrid – London or Cheshire – £52k–£56k DOE + Benefits
Are you working within Biostatistics, Statistics or Real-World Evidence and looking to take on broader responsibility across study design, methodology and project delivery? We’re supporting a well-established global healthcare consultancy looking to strengthen its Statistics and Real-World Evidence capabilities with a Manager-level hire. This could suit an experienced Biostatistician or Statistician looking to take the next step, including those moving from a senior statistical or research-focused position.
The role will focus on providing statistical and methodological expertise across Real-World Evidence studies, helping translate client evidence needs into robust study designs and analytical approaches.
Role Summary
You’ll work across the Statistics and RWE teams, providing statistical guidance throughout projects from initial study design and protocol development through to analysis, interpretation, reporting and publication.
The position is less focused on day-to-day programming and more around providing methodological input, reviewing statistical work and supporting project teams, although there will be opportunities to contribute to hands-on analysis where required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing statistical and methodological guidance across RWE research projects
- Advising on study design and appropriate analytical approaches
- Reviewing study protocols, Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) and statistical outputs
- Supporting the analysis and interpretation of longitudinal and large real-world datasets
- Working closely with Statistical Programmers and wider research teams on complex analyses
- Communicating statistical methods and study findings to clients and internal stakeholders
- Supporting the training and development of colleagues across statistics and RWE
- Contributing to research reports, abstracts, posters and scientific publications
- Supporting proposals and new business opportunities

Requirements:
The key requirement is a strong background in biostatistics/statistical methodology, ideally combined with experience of healthcare, epidemiology or Real-World Evidence research.
- An MSc or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics or a closely related quantitative discipline
- Relevant experience within biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology or healthcare research
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods and study design
- Experience working with longitudinal and/or large datasets
- Strong programming capability using tools such as R, STATA, Python or SPSS
- Experience developing or reviewing protocols and Statistical Analysis Plans
- The ability to explain statistical methods and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong project, communication and organisational skills
Experience working with electronic health records or other secondary healthcare datasets, such as CPRD, would be particularly useful.

The team is also open to considering candidates from academia or other research environments where there is strong transferable biostatistics experience and an interest in moving into healthcare consultancy.

You’ll work across both the Statistics and Real-World Evidence teams, supporting a variety of client projects while also helping develop statistical capabilities within the wider team. There is scope to remain involved technically while building broader experience across project leadership, client interaction, mentoring and consultancy.
There is also the potential to take on formal line management responsibilities as the role develops.
Location & Package
The role can be based from either the London or Cheshire office, with hybrid working typically requiring around 2–3 days per week in the office. Fully remote contracts aren't available for this position.
Salary: £52,000–£56,000 depending on experience, alongside a wider benefits package.
