About The Role
We are looking for a Manager, Business Development to help the Copper business deliver long-term portfolio growth through the origination, evaluation, negotiation and execution of strategic opportunities across the copper value chain. In this role, you will contribute to the future direction of the Copper portfolio by identifying value-accretive investments, partnerships and market opportunities while working with global stakeholders across commercial, technical, operational and executive teams.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Identify and evaluate acquisition, joint venture, partnership and market-entry opportunities that support portfolio growth.
- Lead transaction processes from screening and due diligence through negotiation and execution.
- Develop investment cases, strategic recommendations and valuation assessments for senior leadership and investment committees.
- Build and oversee financial models to assess project economics, investment returns and strategic scenarios.
- Conduct market, competitor, customer and copper industry analysis to support investment decisions.
- Structure commercial arrangements to optimise value while managing commercial risk.
- Build relationships with external partners, governments and key stakeholders to support opportunity development and execution.
- Present transaction updates, commercial insights and recommendations to executive decision-makers.

Required For Success
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- A qualification in finance, commerce, economics, business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated professional services experience in commercial, corporate development, transaction services, investment banking, strategy, business development or related roles, including leadership responsibilities.
- Experience supporting growth opportunities within mining, metals, natural resources or comparable capital-intensive industries.
- Proven capability leading commercial negotiations, transaction processes and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and investment analysis skills with the ability to communicate complex insights to senior stakeholders.
Helpful for Success
- Postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or relevant Master’s degree.
- Experience within mining, metals, natural resources, infrastructure or energy sectors.
- Understanding of commodity markets and pricing mechanisms.
- Experience developing business cases and investment recommendations.

Where you’ll be working
Our global headquarters is situated in St. James’s Square, in the City of Westminster, London, on the edge of the West End, and is the site of the group’s original head office. Located over several floors, the office is truly a global hub for the business and is the base for many members of the Executive Committee. As such, the grade II listed office reflects the vibrancy of the location, although it also overlooks the tranquillity of the only garden square in the district and is a short walk from Green Park and Piccadilly underground stations.
