Manager, Consolidated Reporting

Purpose of the Role
Athora is a leading European savings and retirement services group with significant growth ambitions. As we continue to expand, we are building a finance function capable of delivering robust, well-controlled, public company-quality reporting across a complex international business.
We are seeking an experienced Manager Consolidation to report into the Director Consolidation, who will lead the delivery of the Group's quarterly and annual consolidated financial reporting while driving continuous improvements in systems, processes and controls. This is a visible role with exposure to senior stakeholders across the Group and involvement in adhoc projects including IFRS developments and M&A activity.
Key Contribution Areas
- Lead the delivery of Athora's quarterly Group consolidation process and support the production of annual financial statements and reporting for both the ultimate parent entity and relevant sub-consolidations.
- Review business unit submissions, consolidation journals, intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries, ensuring reporting is accurate, timely and compliant with Group requirements.
- Produce insightful financial analysis and reporting that clearly explains business performance, key trends and the underlying drivers of results.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Actuarial, Tax and divisional finance teams to ensure the smooth delivery of reporting requirements and consistent application of Group accounting policies.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, supporting audit planning, issue resolution and year-end sign-off.
- Drive the continued embedding of IFRS reporting requirements across the Group, including supporting developments relating to IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
- Help strengthen the Group's reporting framework through the enhancement of controls, governance, reporting templates, accounting policies and process documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation and scalability as the Group continues to grow and reporting requirements evolve.
- Lead, coach and develop members of the Group Consolidation team, fostering high standards of performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support wider Group Finance initiatives, including finance transformation projects, M&A activity and other strategic business priorities.

Technical Knowledge Required
Essential Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CA or ACCA).
- 5+ years post-qualification experience within financial reporting and consolidation.
- Life insurance industry experience.
- Extensive experience preparing and reviewing consolidated financial reporting.
- Experience managing and developing finance professionals.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Desirable Experience
- Strong IFRS knowledge, ideally including IFRS 17.
- Exposure to IFRS 9 and US GAAP.
- Big 4 or Top 10 accounting firm background, with a combination of audit and industry experience.
- Experience working with financial reporting systems such as SAP BPC, Workiva or Tagetik.
