What's happening?
Weber Shandwick is looking for a talented (Account) Manager who wants to be part of the Corporate Enterprise practice in our London office. The practice is made up of a smart, dedicated and fun team with expertise spanning B2B, Corporate, Public Affairs, Crisis/Issues, Social Impact/ESG and Technology.
This role will sit within the Corporate Reputation function, serving clients across a broad portfolio including tech start-ups, professional services and FMCG.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced practitioner who is curious, ambitious, proactive and friendly – with a forward-looking view on topics including the changing media landscape and AI implementation. The role offers a portfolio of well-known global brands, as well as work on integrated campaigns involving earned media, strategy, creative, analytics and digital specialists. You’ll lead the day-to-day running of accounts, provide counsel, support in the development of campaign and media strategies, manage budgets, and manage the flawless execution of activities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key attributes:
CLIENT AND WORK
- Lead and support a range of complex, high-profile corporate issues/crisis communications situations (i.e. cybersecurity issues, product safety issues and recalls, mergers and acquisitions, executive leadership changes, IPOs etc.)
- Build client relationships by providing counsel to multiple clients, driving execution of tactical plans and managing internal integrated teams to ensure high quality deliverables
- Drive project management, maintaining overall account tracker and other trackers as needed
- Draft and review press releases, crisis plans, media strategies, reactive media statements, talking points, FAQs, memos, crisis simulations and other deliverables as needed; Support monitoring and triaging of client issues
- Successfully manage client expectations ensuring adherence to timelines, and quality standards; Manage clients, internal teams and deliverables
- Serve as key participant in client meetings and presentations; execute integrated communications strategies
- Conduct and manage the flow of research and materials development necessary to analyze client issues
- Function across disciplines with a knowledge of social media strategies and tactics
- Monitor media outlets for coverage of client and competitor news, leveraging digital and social outlets, key influencers, etc.
- Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client
- Compose media materials (press releases, pitch notes, client briefings, messaging documents, sample Q&A, proposals, bylined articles, supporting social content, etc.), and conduct media outreach
- Proof and edit client related documents
- Develop and build relationships with media and diverse set of influencers in partnership with our influencer experts

SELF LEADERSHIP AND TEAM EFFECTIVENESS
- Begin to participate in the hiring process, partnering with hiring managers to interview candidates and support the onboarding of new team members
- Mentor and train junior team members; may directly manage interns
- Consistently display behaviors that support integration
GROWTH AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Participate in brainstorms and planning
- Contribute to new business pitch content creation and organic business growth efforts (proactive/reactive)
BUSINESS ACUMEN
- Continue to grow financial acumen by managing budgets, assisting with account budget and time entry analyses, and supporting account invoicing
- Work more closely with manager and finance to better understand any client issues that may impact the business
- Begin working with legal on vendor agreements

Minimum Criteria:
To be considered for this role, you must have demonstrated experience of managing corporate or B2B PR accounts, or multiple workstreams if coming from in-house. You will likely have 3+ years of experience.
Ideal Experience Required:
Ideally you will possess many of the above skills and attributes in addition to:
- Excellent critical thinking skills, showing the ability to interrogate and interpret briefs, translating the ask into impactful outputs.
- Proficiency in both media relations and the delivery of an exceptional client experience
- A comprehensive roster of journalist contacts and vertical sector beats at titles covering international, national, trade/vertical sector and substack publications
- A proven ability to manage large and multi-market teams to deliver work of the highest quality
- Experience working with multiple disciplines and specialists to deliver integrated campaigns
- Mastery in copywriting a range of external and media materials including press releases, key message documents, pitches, social media content, etc.
- Familiarity with quantitative analytics and an ability to set and evaluate campaign metrics
- Strong presentation skills and a desire and experience being involved in new business pitching
- Experience developing and managing campaigns and being a day-to-day lead for clients, with a track record of providing strategic counsel
- Be an excellent communicator and possess exceptional writing skills, particularly the ability to digest complex information and turn it into compelling, understandable written copy
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for the client, practice and team
- Attentive to detail and quality
- Fluency in Microsoft programs and digital/social media platforms, tools and solutions
